Warm Nest Action Project
The Warm Nest Action Project is a public welfare project jointly organized by the China Poverty Alleviation Foundation and Hong Gang and Xu Zhen. It aims to use the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection to create a warmer and more comfortable learning and living space for students. It adopts passive solar heating building form to provide students with warm and comfortable school buildings.
On April 2, 2019, the China Poverty Alleviation Foundation awarded donation commemorative plaques to units and individuals that have been with us for 30 years. Fenmei Packaging Chairman Hong Gang and Xu Zhen won the award for their special contributions to building efficient, energy-saving and environmentally friendly school buildings in high-altitude areas.
For the children
Ruoergai County, Aba Qiang Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province is located in the northern part of Sichuan Province, located on the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It has a cold temperate zone and humid monsoon climate on the plateau. There is no summer all year round, and the annual average temperature is only 1.1℃. The high-altitude regional characteristics give this place beauty, but also pose a problem for the people on this land - high cold. Local children live and study under such harsh conditions all year round. The children had frostbite on their little hands holding books, and they still had bright smiles. These scenes are often remembered in Hong Gang's mind. Youth are the future of the country and the hope of the nation. How to make children study with carefree peace of mind has become an urgent problem.
The warmth of winter
To solve this problem, we need to combine local characteristics and supplement it with new technologies to find a way out. In 2013, Mr. Hong Gang and Xu Zhen and his wife jointly launched the warm nest project, gathering forces from many parties to build a warm dormitory for students in high-altitude areas.
The plateau area is also the closest place to the sun. The core concept of warm nests is to make full use of the solar energy and thermal resources in high-altitude areas in winter, supplemented by exquisite architectural design, which achieves comfortable indoor basic temperature, zero energy consumption for heating, and no maintenance is required without consuming or slight petrochemical energy.
After more than two years, Nuanchao No. 1 was officially completed in October 2015. After a winter test, it successfully achieved the indoor temperature not lower than 10℃ in a severe winter environment from -20℃ to -10℃! The student dormitory is more in line with human hygiene standards. Children can say goodbye to thick cotton coats and fall asleep comfortably.
The sunshine in my heart
In May 2016, the completion and opening ceremony of Xiageer Village Primary School in Asi Township, Ruoergai County, No. 1 Nuanchao No. 1 was successfully held. Donors Hong Gang, Xu Zhen and his family and friends, representatives of the China Poverty Alleviation Foundation, leaders of the Ruoergai County Government, project leaders of China Architecture Southwest Design Institute Co., Ltd., staff of the Education Bureau, and teachers and children from Xiageer Village Primary School gathered together to celebrate this happy moment. The children sang and danced in the collection, and the white Hada was dedicated to the guests from afar.
The completion and use of Nuanchao No. 1 not only embodies the love and hard work of Hong Gang and his wife and experts, but also set a precedent for low energy consumption and high comfort in high cold areas, becoming a benchmark building for building student dormitories in plateau areas, with a good demonstration effect.
Walk with the sun
The implementation of the Warm Nest Action allows children not only to live in a warm place, but also to feel the warmth from all walks of life. The warm nest action will continue.
